The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is reporting that the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.4% in August, 2025. The all items index was up 2.9% for the 12 months ending in August. Click here to read more.
The shelter index increased 0.4% and was the primary factor in the all items monthly increase. The index for energy rose 0.7% in August as the index for gasoline increased 1.9% over the month.
