Building Material Prices are Climbing

The NAHB’s Eye On Housing says data from the latest Producer Price Index shows the prices of inputs related to residential construction (building materials) rose 0.3% in March, marking the 3rd straight month of increases. Click here to read more.

Interestingly, they point out a shortage of power distribution transformers with prices surging 63.9% over the past two years. However, prices for softwood lumber fell 4.0% in March – marking the 8th consecutive monthly decline.
